Well, that brings us to the brief overview of the phone, which aims to show you everything you need to know about it.

Overview

Okay, so, for starters, in terms of dimension and overall feel in the hand, the Redmi Note 11 has shaved off a few millimeters and measures a reasonable 159.9 x 73.9 x 8.1 mm in dimension, so folks who are always on the lookout for compact phones will immediately feel at home with this one.

While moving away from the body, and coming to the display, the Redmi Note 11 flaunts a once again, reasonably sized 6.43 inches 1080p+ AMOLED display, same size and resolution as last year’s model, but this time, the Redmi Note 11 has the upper hand as it comes fitted with a 90Hz screen refresh rate.

The processor here is the Snapdragon 680 4G variant which is a very tiny upgrade from the Snapdragon 678 used on the Note 10, in fact, people coming from the Redmi Note 10 will not notice any significant increase in performance and speed on the Note 11.

And coming to the cameras, the Redmi Note 11 now uses a new 50MP main cam as opposed to the 48MP variant used on the Note 10, and it’s joined by the usual 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro cam, and a second 2MP depth sensor.

But even with this new camera sensor, the Redmi Note 11 is actually a downgrade from the Redmi Note 10 in terms of video recording, because while the Note 10 could shoot videos of up to 4K resolution at 30 frames per second, the Note 11 can only manage to up to 1080p at same 30fps. And the front-facing camera stays the same as last year, at 13MP.

Battery also stays same at 5000 mAh, and the charging speed is capped at 33W, once again, same as last year.

So, as you can see, this year’s Redmi Note 11 phone is basically more or less the same phone as the Redmi Note 10 from last year, albeit with a 90Hz refresh rate display, a newer processor, and a new 50MP main camera.

So, is it worth upgrading to this phone if you have the Redmi Note 10?

Well, I bet you already guessed it, the answer is “No”.

But if you own anything lower than that, say the Redmi Note 9 or 8, then you might want to consider upgrading to this phone right now that it is priced reasonably at ₦115,000 and ₦125,000 for the 4GB and 6GB RAM versions respectively, cause trust me, these prices are most likely going to change in the coming months, and I don’t think they’ll be in a way that will be favorable for your pockets.
