iPhone 5s price in Nigeria

So, having seen the current selling price of this phone, why should I still want to buy an iPhone 5s in 2021? I mean, is it worth it, what makes it so important that will make me want to buy it in 2021?

Does it have any special features I can’t find in newer iPhones today, or even on Android phones selling at the same price range?

Well, to answer your questions, I will start with the last one, and the answer is No, the iPhone 5s doesn’t have any special features that can’t be found on newer iPhones or Android smartphones alike, and as for the first question, why will anyone want to buy the iPhone 5s in 2021?

The answer is; because of the price.

The iPhone 5s currently is the cheapest way for anyone right now to tap into the Apple Ecosystem without spending a bulk.

At ₦25,000, you’re getting a 4.0 Inches 640 by 1136p resolution IPS LCD display, an Apple A7 28nm mobile phone processor, though not as fast as what we have today, seeing how Apple mobile chipsets have always been the best in class and fastest in the industry, this should still give anyone out there a very decent performance.

The camera on this thing is a single 8MP sensor, again, this will in no way come close to what we have nowadays even in budget entry-level smartphones, but for someone who is buying an Apple smartphone at ₦25,000, I don’t think the camera picture quality should be one of their priorities.

The phone shipped with iOS version 7 out of the box, and if you’re getting this phone right now, you should be able to get it updated up to iOS version 12.4.6, once again, an outdated version of the Apple iOS, but trust me, you won’t be missing a lot of features from the current latest version of iOS.

So, the take here is, if you’ve been daydreaming of owning and using an Apple iPhone, but don’t have a deep enough pocket to afford the latest and greatest iPhones or to be fully invested in the Apple Ecosystem, then this is one sure way that you can jump on the Apple bandwagon.

Don’t expect too much from this phone, because it is already an 8-year-old smartphone, most 8-year-old Android smartphones, or even those that stayed for lesser periods can’t live up to the legacy that the iPhone 5s left behind.

So, it’s a very solid smartphone, and one that is beautifully crafted too, the only downside of this phone which I can think of when compared to what we have nowadays is in the battery capacity, as it has a meager 1560mAh power cell in it, but considering that it launched 8 years ago when battery capacity of these sizes was the norm, I wouldn’t really say that it’s a downside.

And coming to the last question, is it worth it to buy the iPhone 5s in 2021?

Well, considering the price, yes, and at the same time, no.

Wondering why?

I’ll tell you why.

iPhone 5s price in Nigeria

Yes, because it’s the cheapest way to sneak into the Apple Ecosystem like I’ve said before, and no because comparing it to what we have today from both Apple’s camp and the Android camp, the iPhone 5s clearly lacks a lot of features like better cameras, more powerful processors, more RAM and internal storage capacity, bigger battery sizes, better displays, etc.

And for the same price range of ₦25,000 – ₦40,000, one can easily get a used Android phone with all those specs mentioned above. But still, the iPhone 5s is not a bad idea, maybe it will definitely become a bad idea in the next 2 to 3 years to come, but, it’s definitely not now.
