If you once thought that a 108MP camera sensor on a phone was overkill, then you better get ready for this one, ’cause you’re just about to get blown out of your mind.

So, the thing is, Xiaomi has always been known for being at the forefront of trying out new tech and features on their phones before anyone else, and this time, words on the streets have it that the company is currently working on a new phone, that will be equipped with the new 200MP camera sensor, from Samsung.

Xiaomin 200MP phone

This is coming as no surprise, because the first 108MP from same Samsung, was first commercially used on some Xiaomi phones as well, like the experimental Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha, the Mi Note 10 Pro, and even in the 2020’s flagship Mi 10 phones.

So, what’s with the Samsung 200MP sensor?

Well, according to a post from GSMArena, “The sensor will have a resolution of 192MP and will support 16-in-1 pixel binning, which works out to exactly 12MP output resolution. With cropping instead of binning, this sensor should support native 4x zoom. And with many intermediate steps, it should offer high-quality digital zoom from 1x to 4x“.

And as for the Xiaomi phone in question, well, we don’t have any concrete info at the moment as regards that, but what we know for sure is that the phone will be powered by the upcoming 2022’s Snapdragon 895 Chipset, a successor to this year’s Snapdragon 888, and it will be powering flagship smartphones alike from next year too.

With rumors such as this, it simply means that the Xiaomi phone in question is probably a phone for next year, and there is a high chance that it might among the next year’s flagship Xiaomi Mi 12 series. Just my guess though.

And that’s pretty much everything we know so far concerning the new yet unknown upcoming Xiaomi phone with its 200MP camera sensor. Kindly take this news with a pinch of salt just as you’ve always done, and as always, I’ll see you all tomorrow, #peace out.
