Advertisements

On top of that, it’s got a blazing-fast Snapdragon 870 chipset, and in case you think this is nothing, this processor is actually an upgraded version of the Snapdragon 865 chipset which was the choice flagship chipset of Android smartphones in 2020, and it sits just below the flagship chipset of 2021, the Snapdragon 888.

So, the Poco F3 didn’t just launch with a flagship chipset, but an upgraded one at that.

Compare: Snapdragon 870 processor vs the 865.

Moving further, the phone’s got a superb build quality, Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back, and it boasts of IP53 dust and splash protection rating.

Just like the Poco F3, another Xiaomi phone that took home many awards and accolades as a proper flagship killer in 2021 is the Poco X3 Pro, and that’s all thanks to the blazing-fast 120Hz display, but as opposed to the Poco F3, this one swaps the AMOLED panel in favor of LCD.

Secondly, instead of the Snapdragon 870 chipset that we saw on the F3, this one uses a Snapdragon 860 variant, which is still blazing-fast, and not many mid-range chipsets can come close to it.

In fact, it is even an upgraded version of the flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset of 2019.

  • Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 Pro (6/128GB), ₦167,000, Slot NG.

Xiaomi has just announced its new Redmi Note phones for 2022, and the Redmi Note 11 Pro currently marks the pinnacle of what Xiaomi can offer right now in terms of specs, on the Redmi Note series, though it’s not largely different from the Redmi Note 10 Pro from last year.

So, what do we have here? Well, not anything specifically new if you’ve ever held or used the Redmi Note 10 Pro.

So, we get a 6.67-inches 1080p+ AMOLED display, one that ticks the clock at 120Hz, the body is made out of Gorilla Glass 5, and it’s IP53 rated for ingress protection against dust and water splashes.

The phone is fitted with a MediaTek Helio G96 12nm processor, which a lot of folks have actually been complaining that it’s a downgrade from the Snapdragon 732G 8nm processor used on the last year’s model.

Advertisements

But moving from the processor, the Redmi Note 11 Pro flaunts a 108MP quad-camera setup on its rear, and a 16MP front-facing cam, which brings us to the second downgrade that was done on this phone.

So, while the Redmi Note 10 Pro has a maximum video recording capability of 4K@30fps, the 2022 model can only manage to go up to 1080p@30fps.

The phone boots Android 11 out of the box with MIUI 13 sitting on top of it, it has a 5000 mAh capacity battery and boasts of a blazing-fast 67W fast charging.

So, if you crave the latest and greatest specs that Xiaomi could ever offer in its Redmi Note phones at the moment, then the Redmi Note 11 Pro is the best Xiaomi phone at this moment that can deliver on that.

Here’s what I mean;

It carries the display of the Redmi Note 11 both in size, resolution, refresh rate, and panel, and tops it up with the Note 11 Pro’s 108MP quad-camera system, and its MediaTek Helio G96 processor too.

Moving further, it also has the 5000 mAh battery capacity of the Redmi Note 11, complete with its 33W fast charging system.

So, it’s safe to say that the Redmi Note 11S is basically the same phone as the Redmi Note 11, but with the superior camera system and processor of the Redmi Note 11 Pro, and carries a significantly lesser price tag than the Note 11 Pro.

In fact, it’s safe to say the Xiaomi Redmi Note 11 is not only similar to the Redmi Note 11S, but even more similar to the outgoing Redmi Note 10 from 2021.

So, if like I said before if you feel the Note 11s is too expensive for you at ₦125,000, then starting at ₦99,500, the vanilla Redmi Note 11 still stands as one of the best Xiaomi Redmi Note phones that anyone can buy in 2022.

Advertisements

It packs a blazing-fast 120Hz AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 732G chipset, a heavily praised and recommended 108MP main camera sensor that is complemented by three other sensors, an 8MP ultrawide, 5MP macro with autofocus, and a 2MP depth sensor.

Best Xiaomi phones in Nigeria (2022)

Moving further, it’s got a great build quality with a premium feel to it, so, while other mid-rangers were coming with plastic builds, the Redmi Note 10 Pro came with a glass build, made out of Gorilla Glass 5, and it’s also got IP53 rating for protection against dust and water splashes.

And as if those aren’t enough, it’s also got a chunky 5020 mAh capacity battery with 33W fast charging, and finally, a nice set of stereo speakers to complete the setup.

So, if you’re heavy on budget but need a smartphone that does not compromise in terms of specs and features, then the 2021’s Redmi Note 10 is one of the best mid-range Xiaomi phones that anyone can buy right now in Nigeria, and you should definitely do so.

11. Xiaomi Redmi Note 10

  • 6.43 Inches 1080p (Full HD+) AMOLED display.

What Xiaomi did with the vanilla Redmi Note 10 was take everything that was good from the Pro model, toned them down as much as they can, which brings the price down for people who can’t afford the Note 10 Pro.

Advertisements

So, on here, you’re getting a 60Hz display as opposed to the 120Hz one we saw on the Pro model, though a 90Hz refresh rate wouldn’t have been bad here.

The Redmi Note 10 comes clad in plastic as opposed to glass on the Pro model, and instead of a Gorilla Glass 5 on the front, the phone settles for a Gorilla Glass 3.

Best Xiaomi phones in Nigeria (2022)

And it doesn’t end there, as it also uses the budget Snapdragon 678 processor, the main camera has been jacked down to a 48MP sensor while the rest three sensors stay the same, on the front is a 13MP one as opposed to 16MP on the Pro model, and coming to the battery, you now get a slightly reduced 5000 mAh capacity, but it retains the 33W fast charging, and the stereo speaker setup is present too.

So, if you have up to ₦125,000 to spend on a smartphone, and you need a phone that doesn’t seem very different from its Pro sibling, then you should do well to consider the Redmi Note 10 as it’s one of the best mid-range Xiaomi phones you can buy in 2022, right here in Nigeria.

12. Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S

  • 6.43 Inches 1080p (Full HD+) AMOLED display.

  • Redmi Note 10S (8GB + 128GB), ₦135,500, Pointek.

To cut the long story short, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10S is basically a rebranded Redmi Note 10, but with a MediaTek Helio G95 processor in place of the Snapdragon 678, and a higher-resolution 64MP main camera, making it a slightly better phone than the Note 10.

Advertisements

But guess what, even with the better processor and better main rear camera, the Redmi Note 10S still starts at a slightly lower price than the original Redmi Note 10, making it an even wiser decision to go for it, instead of the OG R. Note 10.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 series might be already two generations old, but they still have what it takes to be considered proper mid-range phones, even in 2022.

So, for the Pro model, which is basically the same phone as the Redmi Note 9S, you’re getting a large 6.67 inches display, though it’s an LCD panel, and it lacks a high refresh rate feature, those can be forgiven considering the year when these phones were announced.

Moving further, you’ve got a glass build made with Gorilla Glass 5, there’s no IP rating here though, and once again, that can be forgiven.

The processor here is a Snapdragon 720G chipset, its got a 64MP main camera while the Note 9S makes do with a lesser 48MP one, and you have a large battery size to play with, coming in at 5020 mAh, same capacity as the Redmi Note 10 Pro from last year, and it comes fitted with a 30W fast charging system, but the Note 9S settles for a lower 18W system.

So, again, this is specifically for those who are low on cash but still need a phone that wouldn’t feel or perform cheap, then the 2020’s Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro or 9S are some of the few best mid-range Xiaomi phones that can deliver that to you right now, and ones you can find right here in Nigeria, in 2022.

So, like we said on the Redmi Note 10 and 10 Pro, Xiaomi took some of the best features of the 9 Pro, toned them down as much as possible, brought the price down even further, and boom, we have a Redmi Note 9.

So, for a current starting price of ₦80,000, you get a smaller and compact 6.53 inches display, which unsurprisingly, is still an LCD panel, and no high refresh rate, not like we were expecting one though.

The processor used here is a MediaTek Helio G85, and the main camera has been brought down to a 48MP sensor, while the rest three sensors stay the same, and one thing Xiaomi hasn’t downgraded here is the battery size on this phone, as it retains the 5020 mAh capacity cell found on the Pro model, but the charging speed has been brought down to 18W, which is still reasonably fast if you asked me.

So, if you’re on a very, very tight budget, such that you can’t afford the already cheap Redmi Note 9 Pro, then maybe you should be able to afford the even cheaper Redmi Note 9, as it still stays valid as one of the best budget mid-range Xiaomi phones to buy in Nigeria, in 2022.

So, you’re getting a 1080p display, something you don’t find on phones in this price range, a 48MP main camera sensor, in fact, the rear camera setup on here is exactly the same thing you’d get on the pricier Redmi Note 9 phone.

It’s also got a decent Snapdragon 662 processor, even with a nice set of stereo speakers, can you believe that? Stereo speakers on a 75k smartphone, and to top everything off is a beefy 6000 mAh battery which is currently the largest that you will find on any Xiaomi phone right now, and it’s complemented by an 18W fast charging system.

Moving further down the entry-level price segment, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9C carries a 6.53 inches LCD display with 720p resolution, and as a matter of fact, this is actually the first phone we’re getting to on this list that has that kind of a resolution.

It uses a MediaTek Helio G35 chipset, not the fastest by any means, but it should get the work done, the camera here comprises a 13MP main sensor which is complemented by two other sensors, a 2MP macro cam, and a second 2MP depth sensor, and on the front is a 5MP front-facing imager.

And you’ve got yourself a decent 5000 mAh capacity battery with 10W charging, and that wraps it up for the Xiaomi Redmi 9C.

So, the take here is, if you’re on a seriously tight budget, and yet still need a smartphone, and you don’t give too much or any concern at all to specs, then the Xiaomi Redmi 9C is one good entry-level Xiaomi device that you can buy in Nigeria right now, and it should definitely be added to your list of best Xiaomi smartphones to buy in Nigeria, in 2022.

It is currently the cheapest available Xiaomi phone you can buy right now in Nigeria, so, for those on an extremely tight budget, or secondary school students who are looking forward to owning a smartphone for the first, the Xiaomi Redmi 9A will definitely make a very good phone and companion, at just ₦48,000.
