So, having seen the price of this phone here in Nigeria, now let’s do a quick overview of it to see the new spec and features it brings over from its predecessors, the Galaxy A32 and A32 5G.

Overview

First of all, in terms of design, the new phone doesn’t look very different from what the Galaxy A32 and A32 5G looks like, as it features the same camera arrangement as those on the back, but also now includes a camera bump similar to what you’d get on the Galaxy A53 and A73 5G, as opposed to the flat design that we saw on the A32 series.

And also, one new addition in terms of design but which isn’t physical is the inclusion of an IP67 rating for water and dust protection on the new phone, something that was missing from its predecessors.

And moving further, the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G features the same display as the non-5G Galaxy A32, a 6.4 inches Super AMOLED panel with a 1080p (Full HD+) resolution, and ticking the clock at a 90Hz screen refresh rate, and as before, the display is protected using Corning Gorilla Glass 5.

Now coming down to performance, Samsung has equipped the Galaxy A33 5G with an in-house built Exynos 1280 5nm Octa-core chipset, the same one that is found inside the higher-priced Galaxy A53 5G phone.

It flaunts a 48MP main camera that is fitted with OIS, making it one of the extremely rear phones that you can find having this feature in its price range.

The other camera sensors on the back include an 8MP ultrawide sensor, a 5MP macro sensor, and a 2MP depth sensor, while on the front sits a 13MP front-facing camera.

The Samsung Galaxy A33 5G can record 4K videos at up to 30fps (frames per second) using both its rear and front-facing cameras, once again, making it one of the extremely phones with 4K video recording capabilities in its current price range as the others are usually stuck with 1080p@30fps.

The phone ships with Android 12 and One UI 4.1 out of the box, and with Samsung’s commitment to 4 years of major software updates for most of its smartphones, this phone should be getting Android 16 update in 2026, again, making it the only smartphone in its price range with such a long duration for software updates and support.

The phone also comes fitted with a pair of stereo speakers, an under-display fingerprint reader, and has a large 5000 mAh battery that is rated for 25W of charging power.

So, if you asked me, I would say that for a current retailing price of ₦173,100 here in Nigeria, the Samsung A33 5G is a great allrounder smartphone that would give you A-rated specs you’d usually find in more expensive smartphones like the IP67 rating, the OIS-enabled camera sensor, long software support, a set of stereo speakers, and even an under-display fingerprint reader.

So, it’s definitely a phone I will recommend for anyone to buy in 2022.
