In Pakistan, Jeete meets Tara’s friend Gul Khan, secures a job, and befriends Kurban Khan’s daughter, Muskaan. Jeete infiltrates the prison, only to discover Tara was never captured.

Meanwhile, Tara, who fell into a stream and was rescued by a Bakarwal tribe, decides to rescue Jeete upon learning of his son’s capture.

In Pakistan, Tara meets Gul Khan, learns of Jeete’s capture, and rescues him from Iqbal and his army. Yahya Khan, who’s the President of Pakistan and also the Commander-in-chief of the Pakistan Army, tells Iqbal to catch Tara in the next 72 hours.

Tara’s team, including Sakeena, faces challenges but eventually reunites. They attempt to leave Pakistan when Muskaan and Kurban Khan’s family, planning to move to Balochistan, join them.

The patriotic theme, combined with nostalgic elements, ensures it will be a big hit. Gadar 2 fulfills high expectations, offering drama, emotions, action, the reprised songs, and, of course, the iconic hand pump sequence.

Anil Sharma ensures he includes every element for a blockbuster.” Anuj Kumar from The Hindu remarked, “While not as provocative as the original, Anil Sharma opts for a middle ground. Perhaps, the subdued tone is a response to the heightened socio-political atmosphere outside the theater compared to the original’s release in 2001.

However, it’s commendable that Sharma has toned down the jingoistic aspect.” Film critic and trade analyst Komal Nahta described “Gadar 2” as “not just a film but a celebration, evoking emotions that resonate with every Indian.” Anindita Mukherjee of India Today gave it 3.5/5 stars, noting, “Gadar 2 surpasses expectations, successfully pulling at your heartstrings, with Sunny Paaji shouldering the emotional load.”

Monika Rawal Kukreja from Hindustan Times mentioned, “Gadar 2 falters in terms of story and pacing but brings back the mass entertainment factor, making it a value-for-money watch.” Shubhra Gupta of The Indian Express, with a 1.5/5 stars rating, commented, “Sunny paaji still delivers a powerful performance, and his iconic ‘dhai-kilo-ka-haath’ retains its impact. And also, the hand pump makes a comeback.”

Sequel

The end credits tease a “to be continued,” sparking excitement among fans for a potential sequel. When asked about it, Anil Sharma hinted at future plans, stating, “You’ll need to be patient. The fruit of patience is sweet, just like Gadar 2. Ideas have emerged, and Shaktimaan Ji (the writer) and I are considering various possibilities. So, stay tuned for what’s to come.”
