Now I’m trying so hard to not make this sound like a sponsored content, but without mincing words here, the Tecno Camon 16 Premier is unarguably the best overall Tecno mobile phone that you can get your hands on right now.

It checks all the boxes for a top-tier 2020 midrange device like the presence of Mediatek’s gaming optimized Helio G90T processor, a 90Hz refreshable display, plenty of RAM and storage, superfast charging technology, a super high resolution 64MP quad rear cameras, etc.

But it doesn’t come cheap though, at least when the price is being converted from dollars to its Nigerian Nairas equivalent, we talking of nothing less than a hundred thousand nairas here guys.

So if you’d ask me who the Tecno Camon 16 Premier was made for, i will say that is meant for people who want all the best spec, features and power that Tecno could offer in their phones right now, and wouldn’t mind paying such huge amount to get it.

  • Price105,500 NGN.
Best Tecno phones 2020

The Tecno Camon 15 Pro happens to be the second best Tecno smartphone that you can get your hands on right now after the Camon 16 Premier. It comes with a 6.53 Inches 1080p uninterrupted display for immersive view experience, and has its front facing camera intelligently hidden inside the phone itself, all thanks to the motorized pop-up mechanism.

Left to me, i will say that the only major differences between the Camon 16 Premier and the 15 Pro are just their varying rear facing cameras, and their processors.

While the Camon 16 Premier rocks a Helio G90T SoC, the Camon 15 Pro follows closely behind with a lower but yet still powerful Helio P35 chipset which should be just good enough in handling both heavy and light tasks without breaking a sweat.

It comes with a 48MP quad rear camera setup as you read from the list above which is still above average, and you’ve got plenty of RAM, internal storage space and a huge battery to play with. And it even comes at a slightly lower price too, at 105,500 NGN.

So if you’d ask me who the Camon 15 Pro is meant for, I’ll say it is meant for people who likes the Camon 16 Premier, but don’t have up to a hundred and fifteen thousand naira to shell out for a smartphone, so they’re better off settling with something very closely related to it.

  • Misc: Dual speakers.
  • Price61,790 NGN.
Best Tecno Phones 2020

Before now, the Tecno Pouvoir smartphone lineup has always been known and applauded for their huge batteries, and with this year’s iteration, Tecno doesn’t seem like they’re ready to take a break on it, even one bit.

The Pouvoir 4 Pro is even a lot more interesting than its predecessors because it didn’t have to make a lot of compromises like its predecessors just for the sake of a huge battery. So personally, i will say that the Pouvoir 4 Pro is a complete package.

First is, you’re getting a humongous display at 7.0 Inches, the movie freaks will definitely freak out on this one, a reasonable amount of RAM and storage options, android 10 out of the box, and the most interesting part of it all, a 6000mAh battery, all these for just an asking price of 61,000 NGN.

So if you’d ask me who the Pouvoir 4 Pro is meant for, i will say it is meant for people who are movie addicts, and chronic social media users. The 6000mAh battery on this phone will definitely take you on a very long ride, and in some cases, can even act as a improvised power bank to help sip some juice to a friend’s or colleague’s phone, via USB OTG.

Best Tecno Phones For 2020 – Tecno Spark 6

Best Tecno Phones 2020

Before now, the Tecno Spark lineup, though they are cheap most of the time, but they have always been taunted and mocked for their possession of the lowest-end Mediatek processors (Helio A series), and the use of very little RAM and storage sizes, starting at 2GB & 16GB of RAM and internal storage spaces respectively, year after year.

But the Spark 6 is here to prove that things are definitely due for a change, and one mustn’t have to settle for mediocre specs just because a phone is cheap.

So armed with 4GBs of RAM in one hand and up to 64GBs of storage in the other hand, and a Mediatek Helio G70 CPU at the center, the Tecno Spark 6 is definitely not here to play.

Aside from a higher resolution display and a 48MP camera that the Camon 15 Pro possesses, the Spark 6 will comfortably feed dust to 15 Pro’s Mediatek Helio P35 chipset in terms of performance and speed, that is how powerful the Helio G70 chipset in it can be.

So if you want something powerful, i mean very close to what you’d get on the Camon 16 Premier, but in a cheaper package, then the Spark 6 should definitely be among your list when next you’re going to shop for smartphones.

Tecno Camon 15

  • Launched, Feb. 2020.
  • 6.55 Inches 720p IPS LCD display.
  • 48MP Quad rear camera setup.
  • 16MP front facing camera.
  • Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 processor.
  • 4GB RAM + 64GB storage.
  • Android 10 + HiOS 6.0
  • 5000mAh battery.
  • Price65,290 NGN.

Though we’ve not talked about the Tecno Camon 12 phone, but the Camon 15 is for those who love the Camon 12, but feels like the android 9.0 Pie version that it comes with, is already outdated, and its 16MP camera, is not enough for them.

So coming in with Android 10 version + HiOS 6.0 out of the box like its bigger sibling, the Camon 15 Pro, it is also carrying the same 48MP Quad camera setup as the 15 Pro.

And like the Camon 12 from last year, it also ships with a Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 processor, coupled with 4GB of RAM and a 64GB of storage.

So on a very good day, the Camon 15 will give you a lag free, seamless performance for an average user, and the camera prowess is unmatched just as it is on its Pro model. It also comes with the added benefit of large 5000mAh battery, which should give you a pretty long time of usage whether you’re gaming, surfing the web, or watching movies with it.

  • Android 9.0 + HiOS 5.5
  • 3500mAh battery.
  • Price59,000 NGN.
Best Tecno phones for 2020

Though it might seem old by today’s standard, but the Tecno Camon 12 Pro still manages to hold its ground even in the midst of the numerous Tecno mobiles devices that have launched this year, and are littered all over the place.

If OLED display(s) is your thing, then this is one of the few Tecno mobile phones where you can find one, and in addition to that, it has an under-display fingerprint reader, same as the Phantom 9, a good-to-go front and rear facing cameras, plenty of RAM (6GBs) and a good enough internal storage capacity at 64GBs.

So left to me, i will say that the Tecno Camon 12 Pro would have been a complete package even in 2020, if only Tecno can be wise enough to update it to Android 10. But let’s just leave that discussion for another decade cause you already know the gist.

So the thing here is, if you don’t mind your phone running on the now ageing android pie version, but you need something with capable cameras, because that’s what the Camon series are meant for, and then a phone with plenty of RAM, and don’t forget that OLED display, and at an arguably good price, then the Tecno Camon 12 Pro should definitely be on your list.

Personally, the flagship touted Phantom 9 from last year should be the one filling this position that the Camon 12 Pro is currently sitting on right now, but i can’t recommend someone buying an android 9.0 Pie running mobile phone for over a hundred thousand naira in 2020, that doesn’t have any hopes of getting updated to the latest android version at least for once in its lifetime.

But for this price (59,000 NGN), and considering the specs of the Camon 12 Pro, i still think its a good deal in a time like this, even though it still ships with android pie out of the box.

Tecno Pouvoir 3 Plus

  • Launched, Aug. 2019.
  • 6.35 Inches 720p AMOLED display.
  • 13MP Triple rear camera setup.
  • 13MP front facing camera.
  • Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 processor.
  • 4GB RAM + 64GB storage.
  • Android 9 + HiOS 5.0
  • 6000mAh battery.
  • Price58,500 NGN.

The Tecno Pouvoir 3 Plus is simply the same phone as the Camon 12 Pro, but with a much bigger battery, and a slightly lesser camera.

Reason is because, you’re getting the same 6+ inches OLED display as the Camon 12 Pro, same Helio P22 processor, and 4GB of RAM in place of the 6GB that is on the Camon 12 Pro.

So if you asked me, I’d say that the Pouvoir 3 Plus is currently meant for those who love everything about the Camon 12 Pro, but feels that the 3500mAh battery that it comes with is just too small for them, considering the fact that the both phones ship with very identical specs and even same android version and software. And they’re similarly priced too.

Best Tecno Phones For 2020 – Tecno Camon 12

  • Launched, Aug. 2019.
  • 6.52 Inches 720p IPS LCD display.
  • 16MP Triple rear camera setup.
  • 16MP front facing camera.
  • Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 processor.
  • 4GB RAM + 64GB storage.
  • Android 9 + HiOS 5.5.
  • 4000mAh battery.
  • Price62,000 – 68,000 NGN.

Just like its immediate elder sibling the Camon 12 Pro, the vanilla model Tecno Camon 12 also manages to hold a strong fight against most Tecno smartphones that have launched this year. With a Helio P22 processor which shouldn’t disappoint anyone in day to day usage, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, throw in android 10 to the mix and you have a perfect mid-range phone for 2020.

It is quite a lot more expensive than the Pouvoir 3 Plus, with an even lesser (-2000mAh) battery, but what it lacked in battery, it made up for it in cameras.

So while the Pouvoir 3 Plus is busy flexing a 13MP main rear camera, the Camon 12 comes wielding a 16MP one (same one that is found on the Pro model), and since this is a Camon lineup smartphone, you shouldn’t be expecting less when it comes to photo qualities.

Tecno Spark 5 Pro

  • Launched, Jul. 2020.
  • 6.6 Inches 720p IPS LCD display.
  • 16MP Quad rear camera setup.
  • 8MP front facing camera.
  • Mediatek MT6762 Helio A25 Processor.
  • 4GB RAM + 64GB storage.
  • Android 10 + HiOS 6
  • 5000mAh battery.
  • Price – N/A.
Best Tecno Phones

The Spark 5 Pro is a successor to last year’s Tecno Spark 4 smartphone, and as usual, it is targeted at people who don’t have much cash to throw at a smartphone, but at the same time, want something that doesn’t feel or behave too cheap.

In fact, the only real difference between the Spark 6 and this very smartphone is just their processors. While the Spark 5 Pro is rocking a low end Mediatek Helio A25 chipset, the Spark 6 takes it up a notch with the Helio G70.

Aside from that, both phones are exactly the same thing, so if you feel like the recently launched Tecno Spark 6 is too expensive for you, then you might consider looking to the side of the Spark 5 Pro.

Though i couldn’t find any official price for it anywhere on the internet, but since the Infinix Hot 9 with exactly the same specs is sold for 55,000 NGN, then i think the Spark 5 Pro should be around that price as well.

Tecno Pouvoir 4

  • Launched, Jul. 2020.
  • 7.0 Inches 720p IPS LCD display.
  • 13MP Quad rear cameras.
  • 8MP front facing camera.
  • Mediatek MT6761 Helio A22 Processor.
  • 3GB RAM + 32GB Storage.
  • Android 10 + HiOS 6.
  • 6000mAh battery.
  • Price51,000 NGN.
Best Tecno Phones 2020

For those who love the big screen and battery of the Tecno Pouvoir 4 Pro, but can’t afford the 61,000 NGN asking price of it, then the vanilla model Tecno Pouvoir 4 might just be a saving grace.

It boasts of the same 7.0 Inches display and up to 6000mAh battery as the Pouvoir 4 Pro, but has to make some compromises in terms of camera, processor, RAM and storage capacities.

But overall, i still think it’s a good deal for 51,000 NGN asking price, that is ten thousand nairas less than the Pro model, and you still get android 10 out of the box too.

Tecno Spark 5

  • Launched, Jul. 2020.
  • 6.6 Inches 720p IPS LCD display.
  • 13MP Quad rear cameras.
  • 8MP front facing camera.
  • Mediatek MT6761 Helio A22 Processor.
  • 2GB RAM + 32GB Storage.
  • Android 10 + HiOS 6.
  • 5000mAh Battery.
  • Price – 52,490 Naira.
Best Tecno Phones

To cut the long story short. This phone is for those who are on a seriously tight budget, but at the same time, still want all the goodies that Tecno has to offer in all its 2020 smartphone shipments, just like its elder sibling, the Spark 5 Pro.

It ships with the same 6.6 Inches 720p LCD display as the Pro model, infact the only difference between this phone and its Pro model is the toned down 13MP rear facing camera, as opposed to the 16MP one found on the Pro.

And secondly the Mediatek Helio A22 chipset that is being used on this one, as opposed to the A25 chipset that is found on the Pro.

So if all those shortcomings doesn’t matter to you, and you need a smartphone that is befitting for all the bells and whistles that 2020 brings along with it, then this my friend, is the smartphone for you.
