Alright guys, so a few weeks back, we actually got rumors that Samsung is gonna be launching a Lite version of its iconic Samsung Galaxy S8 in China (Sorry i didn’t post that here). So everyone actually thought it was just a rumor that was just passing by, but not until this time that we’ve confirmed that those were actually true and Samsung is launching a Lite Version of its S8 exclusive to China only.
So spec wise, the device is really nothing much different from its original counterpart, save for a lower but still powerful Snapdragon 660 Processor against the Snapdragon 835 found on the original S8. Then the cameras as well also got a slight retouch. So the S8 Lite Luxury will be hoarding a 16mp single sensor camera at its back with a large F1.7 aperture, and then at the front is an 8mp shooter with the same F1.7 aperture. Then the battery comes in at 3000mAh power. And the screen too, yes the display also got a slight retouching. Though the S8 Lite Luxury carries the same 5.8inch display found on the original S8, but this time, the resolution have been cut down to a FHD+ (Full HD Plus) against the QHD+ (Quad HD Plus) of the original S8.
So apart from all those specs listed above, everything else remains the same on this device. you’ve got the same 4GBs of RAM and 64GBs of inbuilt storage, which is expandable via a micro sd card for up to 400GBs, the dust and water resistant rating remains the same at IP68, there is wireless charging too, Bixby is there too, Samsung’s Iris scanner and face recognition, pretty much everything is the same.
But one more thing which is not the same is the price. So according to AndroidPolice, the S8 Lite Luxury will be retailing for ¥3,699 which is equivalent to $578. But the device is exclusive to the Chinese only.
